This page describes Calíope 1.5, the version we are building right now. 1.4 is finished and in App Review, and the store serves 1.3 on the Mac and 1.2 on iPad. The changelog says which version each feature landed in.
Adds an “Open in Calíope” button to every topic. It only works with the app installed.
Open SQL files and access recent files.
Where it is: File
The File menu contains: Open SQL file (⌃⌥O) to load a .sql file into the editor, and Recent Files with the history of previously opened files.

Where it is: Window
The Window menu includes the standard macOS controls plus: Next Tab (⌘]) and Previous Tab (⌘[) for navigating between Workspace tabs.

Access Calíope and open additional instances from the icon in the macOS menu bar.
Where it is: System bar
On macOS, Calíope places a cylinder icon (🗄) in the system menu bar, visible in the top-right area of the screen.
Actions available when clicking the icon:
- Show Calíope — brings the application window to the foreground, even if it is minimized or in the background.
- New instance — launches a second instance of the Calíope executable. Useful for opening multiple independent app windows.
- Quit — closes the application completely.
The icon also acts as a recovery shortcut if the main Calíope window ended up behind other windows: simply click the icon to bring it to the front.
This icon only exists on macOS. On iPad the app is accessed directly from the system launcher.
